Park Lake

Park Lake

The moment you arrive at Park Lake, you’ll feel a huge rush of excitement as you gaze at the fun that awaits you in the lake. Park Lake is one of the most visited attractions in Santa Rosa for its outdoor water fun for the entire family.

Park Lake is a recreational lake where swimming is only the start of your day. It has lots of lakeside games for all ages. There’s a reason so many people come to splash around for a couple of hours.

The best time to visit Park Lake is during the summer. Although it’s open year-round, most of the activities last between Memorial Day to Labor Day. During these months, lifeguards are present onsite, and life jackets are provided for visitors.

Park Lake is easily accessible from many of the nearby points of interest. It’s approximately a quarter-mile away from the Blue Hole and a short distance from the Santa Rosa Lake State Park. It’s a must-visit spot to check out if you’re traveling in the area.

Some of the things to look forward to at Park Lake include the following:

  • Great swimming spot for adults and kids
  • Picnic with the family
  • Santa Rosa Days

Whether you’re young or young at heart, Park Lake is the perfect place to spend a day with the entire family. The lake has lots of water activities, including swimming, boating, a water slide, a diving board, and an inflatable obstacle course.

The obstacle course, which locals call the Water Park, is an inflatable obstacle course in the middle of the lake, including a bounce house and a climbing wall. Kids can take turns lining up and racing through the course before ending it with a slide into the water.

Adults don’t just have to sit on the sidelines for the attraction. There are several boats for rent – paddle boats, pedal boats, and canoes – for taking laps around the lake with a partner.

Picnic with the family

After parking your vehicle at Park Lake (or nearby Blue Hole), there is no time limit for how long you can spend at the lake. Be sure to arrive early to beat the crowds and grab a perfect shaded area for relaxing.

Park Lake is one of the best local places for a picnic in Santa Rosa. During the summer, food trucks are frequently set up onsite so you can purchase some great local eateries to enjoy in between swims (make sure to wait for 20 minutes after a meal). Visitors are permitted to bring their food.

Layout a blanket or set up a tent and have a perfect summertime picnic.

Santa Rosa Days

While visiting Park Lake, the summer calendar is filled with lots of local events. Santa Rosa Days is a series of events held annually, usually around major holidays.

The summer season kicks off with a Memorial Day Weekend when you’re sure to see many people having fun at the lake. Other special holidays to visit include fireworks on the 4th of July and a car show. Keep an eye out on the events calendar so that you can experience Park Lake at the best time.
